Update — January 20th 2017

Some site sections were updated. Created the internal section.

New partners

On November 19, another working group meeting was held. Two new cooperation agreements were discussed during the meeting.

Started cooperation with MTL. As a part of this cooperation, joint research and development of X-ray panels and the preparation of students are planned.

Also as a part of cooperation with the SRI of RSA a working group has been created to model electric discharges in the upper atmosphere.

End of the session at Troitsk nu-mass and the next working meeting

After a little pause, due to another session at "Troitsk nu-mass" experiment, we resume regular scientific group meetings.

On Saturday (5th November 2016) another general gathering will take place (as usual at 16.00 in 517-А MB). The agenda is:

  1. Report about the session of the Troitsk nu-mass search for sterile neutrinos.
  2. Status of work on the muon monitor.
  3. Report on the solar neutrino workshop.
  4. Planned collaboration with medical technology laboratory.
  5. Planned cooperation with the SRI on calculations of atmospheric electronic showers.

All meetings are open, so everyone is invited to listen.

Solar neutrino background workshop

On October 19 at 15:30 at the Kurchatov Institute, Pekhotnaya st. 20, a workshop devoted to topic: "Фон солнечных нейтрино в эксперименте по двойному бета-распаду германия GERDA" will be held. Speakers: Glukhikh Timothy, Olga Matveeva.

Workshop plan:

  1. A brief description of the experiment and the reaction in the sun in which neutrinos are formed. - Olga Matveeva.
  2. Nu spectrum from each of the reactions and their partial weight in the total spectrum. - Glukhikh Timothy.
  3. Discussion of the data, the most significant spectral regions during absorption on germanium.

How to get there:

Get out of the Oktyabrskoe Pole metro station towards 1st railway carriage to the bus stop, take the 100, 253 or 681 bus and go to the bus stop Marshala Biryuzova Street, get out, go against the bus and almost immediately turn off Pekhotnaya Street and go almost to the end until you see the building Kurchatov Institute. You can also take buses 105 and 800 from the Oktyabrskoe Pole metro station to the bus stop City Hospital No. 2 (2nd Infantry Lane), get off the bus in the direction of the bus and almost immediately turn left and see the knowledge of the Kurchatov Institute.
